Frontenac1Frontenac2Frontenac4Frontenac3Spent most of this week in Kingston at my parents’ place. Took Monday off from running, but traveled to Frontenac Park on Tuesday morning for some snowshoeing. Got there before the sunrise, so it was fairly cold at first. Took a photo of my frozen face with icy eyelashes (bad photo quality as I used my BlackBerry). Spent three hours snowshoeing, which was a lot of fun. The Dions are great snowshoes, and only take a few seconds to get on and off. They’re very light and don’t interfere with my running style. Went back for the sunset the next day, so experienced both the sun rising and setting at Frontenac.

On Thursday, ran along the K&P trail with my screw shoes. Then, on Saturday, I had a quick run in Toronto before heading to the Airport to travel to Orlando.

Went for an easy run today. While it’s nice to be running in shorts and a T-shirt in December, I don’t like running on cement all the time, so not sure how much I want to run this week. I did run past a wildlife crossing area, where a surprised young deer ran alongside me for a few seconds before taking off into a forest. Unfortunately there are no trails in this area.

I’ve been wearing a pair of Vibram FiveFingers KSOs around town, and also ran in them for about 10 minutes today. They feel great, so I’ll try to use them more often, even though my wife keeps laughing at me.

Weekly Total: 9:13 (2:02 trails; 2:30 roads; 4:31 snowshoeing; 10 mins VFF)
